Going to the movies was a place to escape from our daily lives. Watch the action, romance whatever was on the big screen and forget about our jobs, overdue bills, low scores (if a student) crazy politicians, etc.
And then reality walked in, first in Aurora, then Lafayette and Nashville.
After Nashville, I wrote that perhaps the time had come for metal detectors to be installed in theaters.
Since that will be a huge step in our movie going experience, Regal Entertainment group has made a change to its Admittance Policy.
What will be the public's reaction to bags being searched or at some point in the future arriving and finding metal detectors at the entrances?
Only time will tell, but to my readers I say do not be surprised. That time will come sooner rather than later if another lunatic uses movie goers for target practice.
