GOP vs. Women’s Rights

I listen to the men who are members of the Republican Party spout off about women’s rights and I am always offended and astounded.

In the year 2015, how can an educated group of men, all of them married and all sons and probably fathers, have such a misogynistic attitude towards women. I often wonder how their mothers, sisters, wives feel when they listen to them spouting the GOP brand of hatred for women, which almost always centers around birth control and a woman’s right to have an abortion.

Abortions did not become part of our lives when the Supreme Court decided Roe vs. Wade.   What became part of our lives was the ability to have a safe legal procedure which did not threaten our lives.
Poor women self aborted or went to a hack, and many of them died.
The women in the world in which the members of the Clown Car and the men in Congress live went to their private doctors or to another country to obtain their abortions.

MARCO RUBIO

The fact is all of the members of the Clown Car and GOP male members of Congress publicly hate Planned Parenthood and that is shown clearly in this video in which a 44-year-old Marco Rubio spouts lies without blinking an eye. His ability to look and seem sincere makes him especially dangerous to this country.

JEB BUSH
Moving on from Rubio, we find his fellow Floridian stating: “I’m not sure we need a half a billon dollars in funding for women’s health programs”.  Of course his campaign tried to walk that back, which has become a full time job for them, since he is another one suffering from foot in mouth disease.

When Bush was governor of Florida, he cut funding for Planned Parenthood and is proud of that fact.
Signed a law creating “Choose Life” license plates, making Florida the first state to fund the bogus ‘crisis pregnancy centers’.

Bush speaks proudly of “defending life”.  Did he also make it as difficult for men to obtain vasectomies? After all without sperm there are no babies.

BEN CARSON
Dr. Carson, what can I say? Nothing, I will simply share some of his views and quotes.
“What we need to do is re-educate the women to understand that they are the defenders of these babies” I would love to ask Dr. Carson if he is also in favor of making sure “these babies” have homes in which they are loved, well fed and clothed? Is he also going to make sure that they receive the education that all Americans are entitled to?

He opposes abortion and won’t protect access to affordable birth control, supporting the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision.

And of course, he wants to defund Planned Parenthood and get rid of Medicare and Medicaid. The elimination of those 2 programs would have an enormous impact on women, especially those who are elderly or have low incomes.

TED CRUZ
He, the learned Senator from the great state of Texas wants to ban abortions, even if the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest.
He will do nothing to provide affordable birth control and yes, supports defunding Planned Parenthood. He failed in that one this time, because he has lost his followers in the Senate.
At the Values Voter Summit, Cruz told the crowd “You want to talk about values?  Right now the federal government is suing the Little Sisters of the Poor to try to force Catholic nuns to pay for abortion-inducing drugs.”
He conveniently omitted “and contraceptives” from his speech. “Abortion-inducing drugs” sounds much more threatening. Or does he consider birth control pills abortion-inducing drugs?” With him the possibilities are endless.

OK, then. So more unwanted children to become "burdens" on society and future prison inmates - except that Robio and cohorts view of public responsibility doesn't extend to these unwanted children. So, they will starve in the streets. Nice.

  4. CNN talking heads keep bringing-up "Trump getting out of the race," ie. direct quote this morning. Perhaps wishful thinking for a "bought and paid-up" media that have shaped every dishonest political campaign and party agenda, since the Republican "swift boaters" and political talk radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh first began shaping elections and politics with their lying attacks on the public trust. Good advice to voters, at this point, would be to take no advice from this politically motivated media, but follow rather their own instincts about who's really authentic and what to them really comes across as truth and not just the appearance of it. Past records and consistency are just as important as well, as are the political "strings attached (pay-backs)" to each candidate's successful outcome, should that occur. What would also dissuade the person from his or her original representation and honesty is also important. It makes real detectives out of all of us....

Carson got it right this morning (criticized by CNN), by the way....about the media.

  5. What we really have in this country is an antiquated way of choosing our leaders. It doesn't work well and introduces dishonesty, duplicity and malfeasance into everything.
